Programme and deadlines

The 18th EASD Islet Study Group Symposium (11-13 September 2008) will be held in Rome on the occasion of the 44th EASD Annual Meeting (7-11 September 2008).
The venue will be Villa Mondragone, one of the most beautiful villas on the hills around Rome, between Frascati and Monte Porzio Catone. This area, called Castelli Romani (Alban Hills), is about 20 km south-east of Rome.
A bus service will be arranged from the EASD Meeting (Fiera di Roma) around 2 p.m. on Thursday 11th. It is possible to reach Villa Mondragone from Rome airports or railway station by public transports. Individual taxi services can be arranged too.
Hotel accommodations will be in Frascati and shuttle-buses will be available from the hotels to Villa Mondragone and return.

Beta-cell failure mechanisms and rescue possibilities in type 2 diabetes
The role of the alpha-cell
